Emo music for 2008

Hot Water Music’s “Finding the Rhythms” CD is enjoyed by many in the Emo community, as is “Fuel for the Hate Game.”  These recordings take the best of Fuel and Fugazi’s guitar drive, while adding a sweaty pop-punk beat and scratchy singing that gets its point across, despite the lack of a certain “beauty.”

1.6 Band was a group that took Dag Nasty’s corkscrewing riffs and energy and added in the finest Emo style that sixteen-year-old vocals could possibly record.

Kerosene 454 had a CD, “Situation at Hand,” produced by Art Monk Constructive, that is enjoyable and profound. The CD’s guitar sound is what bands often dream about.  The songs are sweet pop musical contributions that are heavy with crushing guitar sound.  How Kerosene 454 manages to be heavy and loud while profound at the same time is the secret that made their music a favorite of many Emos.
