Emo music for emo boys

Hoover / Lincoln - Their split 7″ released in 1993 is one that anyone who likes anything about the Emo culture simply must have.  Everything that was part of the Emo world in 1993 is expressed perfectly in this recording.  It features gut-wrenching pain and yet subtle beauty all at once.  It’s an amazing musical accomplishment.

Lincoln (two separate 7″s). Lincoln’s first was released in 1992, and was intriguing because of its heavy DC personality, along with loud Emo vocals, and yet slowdown parts in the songs’ middle.  This was the first group to adopt that style, and after it worked so well for Lincoln, other bands started doing the same screaming style. Lincoln’s second 7″ was “Art Monk Construction #7.”  It featured painful screaming that expressed the lyrics in an amazing way. Lincoln’s first is considered rare, so if you have it, consider yourself fortunate. If not, and you can find it, better snatch it and hold onto it!

sounds to me as if you are following the crowd steph and that aint a good thing, just be who you are and people will accept you for it, that’s what really counts.

Punkbaby, you say you hate the world and talk about people “trying” to be something they aren’t, so what about all these people who have only recently heard of the emo style and claim within minutes that is what they are, it aint based on what you wear or who you listen to, yeah, they say it is emo, but it actually isn’t, if push came to shove, 87% of the emo style would collapse.

    Have a nice day
